Can we restore user data from VSPC Web Portal?

No. You have to use Veeam Backup Agent to restore backups.

What is the retention policy?

Retention policy defines the number of restore points (Backups) to keep on your cloud repository and is configured in the Specify Backup Storage Settings step of the backup job configuration wizard.

Veeam Agent retains restore points (Backup) for the last N days; the number of days is defined by the IT Admin or user. During every backup job session, Veeam Agent checks if there is any obsolete restore point in the backup chain. If some restore point is obsolete, it is removed from the chain.

Note:  Restore points in the backup chain are not kept forever. They are removed according to the retention policy

How many days can users’ data be stored in cloud repository?

730 days (max allowed retention points). If your restore points size exceed your cloud repository quota (Eg. more then 100 GB ), you need to buy additional storage.

How to delete old data from cloud repository?

Old backup data will be deleted according to the company retention policy. If you want to remove or clean up particular machine backup files from cloud repository, you can remove them by deleting the backup job (Restore points) from target machine Veeam agent console.

Note: Do not delete backup policy from VCSP portal, which will remove all endpoints backups.

Can we buy Veeam endpoint license from UBX and use other repositories like OneDrive and local storage?

No. You cannot use other repositories using this promotional offer.

What if we exhausted 100 GB cloud storage?

You need to buy more storage, which will be at an additional cost of 990 INR for 100 GB.

Can we assign 100 GB cloud storage to multiple devices?

No. If you have multiple devices, then you need to buy additional licenses

Can we reset our tenant login password from VCSP portal?

Yes. You can reset the tenant login password from VSCP portal.

How to verify endpoint backup status from VCSP portal?

  • You want to recover your computer from scratch after a hard failure.
  • You want to recover data on a new computer without prior OS installation

What is storage optimization and compression rate in Veeam agent backup?

By default Veeam agent will provide Optimal compression and deduplication which is the recommended level. It provides the best ratio between size of the backup file and time of the backup.

Note: Higher compression ratio requires more CPU processing power and it may reduce the system performance.
