Beyond Storage: How We Can Take the Task of Data Management Off Your Hands
UBX Cloud not only provides better and more reliable storage than the Big Cloud goons, we also take the task of data management off your hands.
UBX Cloud
As we told you in an earlier blog, companies who rely on Big Cloud to store their data end up with triple whammy of problems. Not only does Big Cloud charge exorbitant fees while overselling their capacity – leading to inevitable outages like the one we saw a few weeks ago – they also stick you with the continued responsibility of actually managing the data (or hiring a third party to do it for you).
It may live on their cloud servers, but keeping on top of it is still your job. Some deal, huh?
UBX Cloud not only provides better and more reliable storage than the Big Cloud goons, we also take the task of data management off your hands.
We are responsible for running clients’ workloads in our environment. Usually this is business-critical data, so we deploy a team that’s exceedingly specialized at this type of server management. We’ve been doing this for 16 years – well before Big Cloud ever even thought to make cloud storage a thing. That’s how long we’ve been doing utility-based computing.
About that: The companies who go with Big Cloud for storage now find themselves with an extra task they didn’t have before. They were already managing their data in their own environment. Now they have a whole other location they have to look after.
If you go with a third-party cloud specialist, they’re going to be very expensive, which tends to discourage the actual customer companies from getting on the phone to call them if they have a need. They know that as soon as that call is answered, it starts running up the bill.
We hate it when people are afraid to pick up the phone and call us. We like hearing from them! It’s also a terrible business model when your customers are afraid to get in touch with you.
So we make a priority of making the economics of everything make sense. If a customer has a large infrastructure, they are probably going to be more in need of our brains and our expertise than someone with a smaller environment, so everyone is charged accordingly. But they know that if we’re handling their storage, we’re also expertly managing their data and they don’t have to hire an outside firm.
Our ability to effectively co-manage their environment is one of the greatest value-adds of our customer relationships.
Along with all this, we drive better security measures, drive best practices and help them uncover a lot of misconfigured or unconfigured things – the sort of issue that most of our customers don’t have the expertise or the manpower to address on their own.
It’s a shame, but most companies don’t see IT as a profit center, so it’s one of the areas that tends to get cut when budgets are squeezed. The result is that the people who are left are stretched too thin and they start to make mistakes.
We don’t like to see that, but we know it’s reality and that’s why we’re here – to provide a laser focus on server management and data management, with all the hardware and software components we can add to our own brainpower to make sure our customers’ data is always expertly managed.
We control all aspects of this deliverable, which means we control the quality. Our customers can tell you the result for them – first rate all the way.
Don’t trust Big Cloud with your storage needs and get stuck handling your own data management – or farming it out to a third party that’s so expensive you’re afraid to pick up the phone and call them.
We’ve got you. All the way.
