Flat Rates Mean Peace of Mind for Cloud Data Storage Clients
What a nice feeling.

A friend of ours was recently stunned by his electric bill. Granted, it’s summer, when air conditioning runs longer and stronger, we all expect the bills to spike a bit.
But this was more than a spike. And it took him a bit of investigation to uncover the reason.
Turned out his Wi-Fi router was running for weeks when he thought he had unplugged it. We tech nerds are the problem with everything.
That’s unfortunate, and we’re confident our friend will not leave that device plugged in when he’s not using it in the future. But at least that’s a problem a normal person can figure out.
What happens to companies who are paying for data storage by the bit and get blindsided by astronomical bills for no reason they can possibly discern?
It happens more than you might think.
Big Cloud data storage providers (looking at you, Amazon and Google) charge per use, and it’s almost impossible for a company of any size whatsoever to exercise precise control over how much data it’s using or needing storage for.
That’s because, at any given time, there are so many things happening in a company that involve the processing of data. You don’t want to tell your people not to answer their emails or to join a critical video call. You don’t want to discourage the downloading of important files. This is all part of doing business, and the more activity you have going on, the more opportunity you’re probably accessing.
This is all good.
But when Big Cloud hosts your cloud storage, you’re paying for every bit of it. And when the bill comes in well beyond what you had expected or budgeted for, you’re not going to be able to just look around the office and say, “Oh, I left the router plugged in too long.”
It will probably cost as much money to figure out what happened as it’s going to cost you to pay that bloated cloud storage bill.
But you don’t want to run your company in frantic data preservation mode, either. No one wants to work for a boss who walks into every room shouting, “Turn this server down!” (Whatever that means.)
This is why UBX Cloud charges simple, flat fees for cloud data storage.
You pay the same amount every month, regardless of how much data you’re using or how much we’re storing for you.
Why can we do that? For the same reason Big Cloud could if they actually cared about their customers! Our technology infrastructure and that of our storage partners allow us to very efficiently scale our cloud storage operations, so one company’s spike in a given month is hardly a blip for us. It’s no reason to stick you with a gargantuan bill that’s going to cause you a short-term cash-flow crisis. Charging you the same fair amount every month is plenty for us to cover our costs and take good care of you.
Of course, we’re saying that as people who actually care about maintaining positive customer relationships. We don’t see the movement of every bit of data as an opportunity to stick you for a little more cash.
Neither you nor we can stop Big Cloud from operating this way. But we can decline to be part of it.
Bring your data to UBX Cloud for cloud storage, and never again deal with sticker shock from your monthly cloud storage bill.
What a nice feeling.
